Covers a route traverse in western Abyssinia extending from Gambela 200 miles south-eastwards to Anderacha, then 60 miles north-eastwards to Jiren and a further 400 miles north-westwards to Gezan. Portrays hydrology, relief by form lines and spot heights, roads and tracks, telephone lines, settlements, place names, customs gates and the expedition route, and includes topographical notes.All sheets bear a note regarding the accuracy of the barometric heighting; Sheet 1 also bears a note by Major C.W. Gwynn R.E. relating to planimetric accuracy; Sheet 2 bears a note describing the incorporation of an additional road traverse by Mr Jennings Bramley (A copy of this traverse is filed at ABY/23); Sheet 3 bears a note describing the contribution of Major C.W. Gwynn R.E. to the portrayal of relief.Sheets 3 was subsequently used in the compilation of ABY/29.The confirmed spelling 'Anderacha' is used on the map face; the unconfirmed variant 'Anderach' is used in the title.
